When you don’t know what to do.

Have you ever have this feeling of being far away from the people you love? That feeling when you seem to be out of God’s sight because of the worldly things you are doing in your life? Or simply… when you feel like you are stumbling after God and you really don’t know just to be okay? You want to know how to recover once again? Let me help you.

                Here are some practical ways that for me, would help you. I hope this would not take as a burden in your heart but inspirations to enjoy your life on the right way, once again.

1. Decide. You should decide that you want to be okay before you become okay. It must be clear in your mind that you want that CHANGE in your life. You should be decisive enough to say that you want to change, even if it’s hard, for the sake of being okay. If your decision is not inclined on what you want, then everything will be worthless.

2. Pray. If you think that God is too far from you and he cannot hear your prayers enough, then you are wrong. He is always there. He always listens. You are the one who got away. You are the one who ran away. Before doing the steps, you should pray first. Ask God to give you the wisdom and guidance you will need. Pray also for His overflowing grace.

As what is written on His word: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him” 1 John 5:14-15

3. Confess your sins to Him. Tell God what you have done. Tell Him those things that you have done to hurt Him. Tell Him your reasons, tell Him. Confess everything. Always put in your mind that God already knows those things, He is just giving you an opportunity to be open about your sins. He is just giving you the chance you want. Though it is really awkward to tell your mistakes to someone you have offended, if it is one of the ways to be okay, then do it. NO more pride my dear cause PRIDE will not lead you to goodness but only to own satisfaction.

“That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

4. Ask for His forgiveness. Say sorry to your Father. You have hurt Him. A LOT. So have a humble heart to ask for His forgiveness. After all, He is a generous God who is all loving and is willing to give His forgiveness to you. Don’t worry.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

5. Turn away from that sin and turn to God. Since you acknowledged your sins and asked God for His forgiveness, it’s now time for you to say that you will not do it again; that you will not hurt God again; that you will always see His bloody face in front of those temptations. You should repent my dear. If you are thinking that it is hard to do so, let me tell you that nothing is too hard with God. Through His grace, you can do all things. Remember, you are not alone now. You are with God. So do not be afraid. You can do it!

“Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret…” 2 Corinthians 7:10

6. It’s time to go back on track. Now that you are already okay with God, it’s time to move on. Forget the sin but not the lesson (cause it’s your testimony) and move forward. Focus on what is ahead and not the past. Go attend your local church, your cell group, ministry and all. It’s time to go back on the burning coal. Don’t think that everyone will judge you. No my dear. Always remember that you are loved and your return is so exciting. You are valued. You are loved. Only God has the right to judge you. Fight for your relationship with Him. Eat your PRIDE. GO my dear. Go to your church AGAIN.

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14

7. Worship God on everything. Of course, live your life in worship. Always keep in mind that what you are doing is actually an offering to God. You love because someone loves you so much. You care because someone cares for you. Do everything out of God’s overflowing love in your life. Not based on your efforts but because of God’s action.

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24

8. Have faith.

“Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance…” 2 Timothy 3:10

That’s all. It’s not hard as what you thought. God is always waiting for your answer, for your decision. Read David’s words when he actually felt the same thing. Take a read on Psalm 38.

Psalm 38
A psalm of David. A petition.
1Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger
or discipline me in your wrath.
2Your arrows have pierced me,
and your hand has come down on me.
3Because of your wrath there is no health in my body;
there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin.
4My guilt has overwhelmed me
like a burden too heavy to bear.
5My wounds fester and are loathsome
because of my sinful folly.
6I am bowed down and brought very low;
all day long I go about mourning.
7My back is filled with searing pain;
there is no health in my body.
8I am feeble and utterly crushed;
I groan in anguish of heart.
9All my longings lie open before you, Lord;
my sighing is not hidden from you.
10My heart pounds, my strength fails me;
even the light has gone from my eyes.
11My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds;
my neighbors stay far away.
12Those who want to kill me set their traps,
those who would harm me talk of my ruin;
all day long they scheme and lie.
13I am like the deaf, who cannot hear,
like the mute, who cannot speak;
14I have become like one who does not hear,
whose mouth can offer no reply.
15Lord, I wait for you;
you will answer, Lord my God.
16For I said, “Do not let them gloat
or exalt themselves over me when my feet slip.”
17For I am about to fall,
and my pain is ever with me.
18I confess my iniquity;
I am troubled by my sin.
19Many have become my enemies without cause;
those who hate me without reason are numerous.
20Those who repay my good with evil
lodge accusations against me,
though I seek only to do what is good.
21Lord, do not forsake me;
do not be far from me, my God.
22Come quickly to help me,
my Lord and my Savior.

David looked for God’s help and presence. Look for God my dear. Don’t be ashamed. Fight for your relationship with God. Do not dwell on the temporary things that this world offers. Dwell on the everlasting love He gives. It’s the best. It’s the sweetest.

Choose now. Someone is waiting. Don’t over delay it. He cares.
